SENCAB Workshop- Promoting Self help Initiatives and Advocacy for Rural Women Cultivators and Processors - 1st – 5th June, 2021 – Kwamoso Community – Eastern Region
In increasing efforts towards encouraging production of food to improve diversity of crops for nutrition and reduce risks caused by climate change, SENCAB initiated a series of workshops within the Kwamoso community in improving self help initiatives for efficient food production.
Cassava and Maize being staples currently promoted in Ghana to ensure food security, small scale women group cultivators within the Kwamoso community were taken through agricultural methods towards increasing productivity and improving yield per farming hectares. This included resilience approaches in addressing irregular rainfall and drought challenges, as well as awareness on organic fertilizer use as against chemical pesticides, with training for less reliance on external support, towards recognition of local, inexpensive inputs in promoting organic cultivation.
